LEEANN, 2025 (FROM the US)

I have done much traveling in my life but I absolutely adore my visits to Colombia. The people are so kind and embracing and the nature and their love and care for its like no other I have experienced. This feeling, accented by my time at Casa Andaluna, was for me, incomparable. This was my second stay at Andaluna and it was even more amazing than my first. It is just so peaceful and restorative there! My style is to wake with the morning sun and the cool breeze that filters through the tall windows, beautifully screened with traditional Colombian iron filigree.

The spectacular mornings begin with the songs of myriad birds of myriad shapes and colors, many flying high while others seem to adorn the great variety of mature fruit trees and exotic plants and flowers that shade the property. I pull my yoga mat out onto the wrap around balcony that surrounds the main house, outside my door, and start the day with a good stretch. There is always some kind of ripe fruit and fresh eggs (from the on-site hens) made to order for you at breakfast, with delicious local butter and local cheese if you like. There are also fresh arepas brought in from the lovely little “downtown”, about a 10 minute walk up the road.

When I'm at Casa Andaluna, I can hardly find a reason to leave except for a beautiful morning walk on the nearby and quiet road that cuts through a local farm, or a guided walk on the trails that roll down the gentle slopes through hidden coffee and banana plantations. These plantations overlook one of the greenest and most fertile valleys | have ever seen. There is a good reason the nearby airport is called “el Eden”. Other reasons I find, to never leave Andaluna, are the on site visits by the wonderful masseuse and general esthetician, the quiet meditative comers all around the property and the heated land shaded swimming pool where you can spend some hours of the day. Of course, if you want to explore the region, it is full of marvelous and exciting activities that are close by and carry you deep into the culture, traditions, and nature that the fine Colombian “Paisa” people call home.

The experience cannot be described in words. Everything was done professionally. The dancing, the food and the organized trips were amazing. The atmosphere was like being in a family. The logistics were beautiful and 'far from the maddening crowds'. It is peaceful and good for the soul. The trip was well balanced with activities and relaxation. I would love to come back to Colombia for another retreat at Andaluna. Loved it very much.

Companionship of group, dance, visiting parque del Cafe, Salento & Cocora Valley were key take aways from the retreat. I had no problem with the logistics of getting there from airport or returning. I enjoyed the pool, getting messages and having a pedicure/manicure.

My experience at Andaluna was genuinely one of the most restorative and beautiful of my life! The staff and the property cared for and captivated me with a most warm and magical feeling of well-being. Every morning as I stepped out onto the balcony, I was greeted by the joyful sounds of colorful birds and the spectacular views of the property’s luscious, fruit filled gardens, the coffee farms next door and the Andes in the distance cloaked in majestic clouds. Andaluna is in a super safe and convenient location. It is close to everything I was looking for! The Quindio airport, myriad nature walks, the town (Pueblo Tapado) and awesome local attractions like el Parque del Café and souvenir shops. It was the perfect place to base myself to enjoy the nature, attractions and the people of El Quindio. Andaluna is magical, peaceful, luminous, spectacular, convenient! I plan to return!

Colombia is a dream. The people are so friendly and welcoming. The nature is absolutely breathtaking. I have been to the Quindio region two times and would love to see other parts of Colombia. Pueblo Tapao, the small town that Andaluna is in, is lovely to walk through and it is easy to get around the region with arranged transportation. The property it is just a 5 minute walk to the town center where you can find delicious local treats, the pharmacy, souvenirs- and all attended by the wonderfully kind and gentle locals of El Quindio. I felt safe and cared for during my time there. Andaluna is the perfect combination between a luxury resort and a local site. The food, coffee, and fresh juices are delicious. I would definitely return!

Andaluna provided us a unique experience in the breathtaking natural landscape of Quindio, Colombia. A beautiful manor house, and cozy guest house, are nestled behind walls, providing privacy and security. While colorfully appointed rooms, open air verandas and a beautiful pool offered an authentic refuge to rest and relax. Yet just outside the gate we could easily access town, local attractions, and nightlife. Situated among fields of coffee beans and pineapple plants, we had access to unique fresh fruits and vegetables grown locally, the very best of coffee and Colombian specialty cuisine. This magical place offers rest and relaxation in a comfortable, friendly environment. A truly authentic place to experience the best of Colombia.
